This folder contains a repaint for the Spitfire Mk.IX by FlyingIron, in the colors of Spitfire IX EN298 RN-B was one of the first Mk.IX's delivered to No.72 Squadron. It was the regular aircraft of eight-vicory ace Plt. Lt. David Cox during the latter part of the Tunisian Campaign in March and April 1943. He used it to damage a Bf.109 on March 26th, to shoot down another Bf.109 on April 3rd and probably a FW190 on the evening of the 12th. EN298 was shot down on 20 June 1943, with its pilot, Flg Off Gordon Sharp, being killed. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom.
