Giza Pyramid Complex Historical Pack Version 1.0
I try to take you back in time, roughly 4,500 years.
Giza is probably the most famous and studied archaeological site in the world.
This work is based on hundreds of published documents from many esteemed Egyptologists. The pyramids once were called the "Lights in the Desert" because they were encased with polished white limestone and capped off with pyramid made of an alloy of Gold and Silver.
The pyramids: The largest and most northern is the Pyramid of Khufu. The center pyramid is the Pyramid of Khafre. The smallest is the Pyramid of Menkaure, which had base course of Red Granite.
Khufu's Palace, Valley Temple, and Pyramid Temple are much conjecture due to the lack of archaeological evidence. But based on other Pharoahs these depictions could be close. I took a lot of license in materials while maintaining the Egyptologist's overall impression.
Version 1.0 contains the most popular elements of the site and outlying settlements. Some night lighting has been added and based on "torch light". The pyramids themselves are not illuminated in this version but will be once I have a plan!
The intention of this scenery pack is for education purposes and some fun VFR activities.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I did creating it!
Thank you for downloading and follow me for updates as new archaeological data becomes available.
Peace and Joy,
Christopher (Areographer)
Installation:
Extract the GizaHistory.zip file and copy the "pyramid" package into your Community Folder.....that's it!
Amazing. I was hoping someone would do something like this. I hope somebody attempts ancient Rome too.

I really love the idea of historical sceneries and maybe 'bushtrips'. As a great fan of the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupery I'd love to go back a century and fly along the routes along the Northwest African coast (Latecoere Aerial Post line) or in the Sahara Desert he describes in books like 'Courrier sud' or 'Vol de nuit'. According to your lovely Gizeh scenery you have already all it'd need for some small oasis, post/refuel stations and small oriental dwellings along his routes?

I was thinking of expanding it down the Nile....eventually.

I have a bunch going through my head and using the power of MSFS 2020, we can do a lot of stuff. I hope other creators "catch on".

Phenomenal job! Really makes a good impression of how the Giza plateau was SO much more than just a few pyramids.
