Silver Lake is located on Highway 7 bordering both Lanark and Frontenac counties in eastern Ontario near the community of Maberly, approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi) away from Perth, Ontario. Silver Lake Provincial Park can be found at the eastern end of the lake. Park activities include canoeing/boating, fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing (including woodchucks, raccoons, rabbits and chipmunks, harmless snakes, painted turtles, toads, bullfrogs and leopard frogs inhabit the wetland with eastern kingbird and red-winged blackbird overhead).
I created this aerodrome because of the great memories I have from camping at Silver Lake Provincial Park nearly 50 years ago. While out canoeing and fishing we would often see small aircraft come and go with one of the popular parking area (look for the static Twin Otter and windsock) being duplicated in this add-on file. Their is both land and water parking available on the southern shore south west of the island. Water takeoff and landing is available.
