Azurpoly C-160 Transall VH-RFW Firefighter
This is a real livery for the Azurpoly C-160 Transall in the colors used by the Australian firefighting aircraft VH-RFW (MC Dermott Aviation)
Two years ago, the Transall C-160 transport aircraft had its farewell flight. The German Luftwaffe retired the military transporter, which was developed jointly by Germany and France and produced from 1965 to 1985. Accordingly, the Transall C-160s were getting old and were gradually being replaced by the Airbus A400M by the Bundeswehr.
For at least three of the machines there is a new life in a new look and with a new task. The transport planes will then be used as firefighting aircraft in Australia. The country has been repeatedly hit by severe bushfires and forest fires in recent years. The new owner of the aircraft is the McDermott Aviation Group, which specializes in firefighting. The Transall are the first aircraft in the company's inventory.
The former 50+88 (serial number D.125) now bears the registration VH-RFW, the sister machine 50+83 (D.120) received the registration VH-RPR and the former 50+55 (D.77) became the VH -TIT. On November 23rd, the unmistakable hum of the Rolls-Royce Tyne turboprops of a Transall could actually be heard again in Hohn for the first time.
Sorry there was only one picture oft he bird. The livery is WIP.
Best wishes to all Australian pilots and always happy landings to all pilots who love to fly the Transall 😊
P.S: Special Greetings to Teflon for the picture
