Repaint/Livery of the Microsoft/iniBuilds Bell 47J Ranger, as Augusta-Bell 47J Ranger;
Danish Air Force, Code: T-897 "PHOENIX".
The Danish Air Force had 3 Bell 47J Ranger from 1958 - 1967 in service. These 3 helicopters
had been operated by the Geological Survey of Greenland (GGU). The homebase / airbase
was Vaerlose. The helicopters named "Castor" and "Pollux". But "Castor" crashed three month
after delivery in South Greenland and would replaced with one more Augusta Bell 47J Ranger,
named "Phoenix". "Phoenix" was exclusively used to support GGU's summer expeditiones until
1966. Whereabout is unknown.

Regarding Phoenix : T-897 (Phoenix) crashed during a training flight at Værløse airbase, April 21 1966.
During the flight, a loud bang was heard, followed by some violent shaking in the helicopter. T-897 subsequently plummeted towards the ground tail first. T-897 hit the ground and flipped onto its side. The pilot was rescued from the accident.
After the crash, it was assessed that a possible repair would cost 288,000 danish kroner (roughly 37.500 Euros) in 1966, which would amount to 3.294.144 DKK (or 428.059,72 Euros) in todays currency (2024), which was deemed to costly, so I guess it was written off, and just sold as scrap (It's my guess. Not able to confirm). 😞
