This mod enables adjustable heading control for the Sperry gyropilot in the PILOT'S Boeing 314 Clipper flying boat. To install, simply drag-n-drop into your Community folder.

You activate the gyropilot in the usual way, then adjust the heading using the RUD knob above the course display on the gyropilot. The big knob below the display aligns the gyropilot with the whiskey compass. The top row of numbers is the desired course, and the bottom row is the actual course.

Be forewarned - the gyropilot responds *very* slowly to changes, which I imagine is how the real thing worked, not quick at all like a modern autopilot. I have limited the bank angle under gyropilot control to help avoid big overshoots when making a large course change.

I'm unable to implement pitch control at this time, as neither the ELEvator or AILeron knobs on the Sperry are animated. You will need to disengage the gyropilot to change altitude; it will return to altitude hold mode when re-enabled.

This mod is compatible with the excellent NC18602 Bare Metal repaint for the Clipper by Boulder.
