Community Creator Wookie042 has updated several of his US sceneries on our platform. These updates bring new features and fixes to some of his most popular airports and landing strips. Here are the updated sceneries, along with a brief history and introduction:
Lime Village Airport is a small airstrip located in the remote wilderness of Alaska. It is primarily used for bush flying and serves the nearby village of Lime Village. The airport has a 1500 feet long gravel-dirt runway right next to the river. The runway conditions are not monitored and a visual inspection is recommended prior to landing. The runway is not lighted and landing in bad weather conditions
is not recommended.
Weatherby USFS Airport is a small, public use airport located in the mountains of Idaho. It is primarily used for general aviation and serves the nearby community of McCall. Situated in a narrow valley right next to the Middle Fork Boise River at an elevation of 4500' makes it an interesting yet challening place to fly to. The airport, which is owned by the US Forest Service, serves as ideal stop-over point between the Snake River Plain to the south and the Idaho Mountains to the north.
The Flying B Ranch Landing Strip is a private airstrip located in the mountains of Idaho. It is primarily used by the Flying B Ranch, a luxury hunting and fishing resort. Its elevation of 3600 feet and the steep terrain on all sides of the airstrip, makes this a challenging airstrip to fly into and out of.
Nugget Creek Cabin is a small cabin and landing strip located in the wilderness of Alaska. It is primarily used for backcountry flying and serves as a popular destination for bush pilots. If you want to get away from the crowds, enjoying untouched wilderness for miles and are into hunting and fishing this is the right spot for you - provided that you can handle its airstrip which is only roughly 545 feet long and not much wider than the wingspan of a Kitfox or Piper Cub.
Glacier Point Airstrip is a small, remote airstrip located in the wilderness of Alaska. It is primarily used for bush flying and serves as a popular destination for backcountry pilots. Despite its remoteness, it's one of the most popular sightseeing sites in the Haines/Skagway area, due its easy access to the Davidson Glacier which terminates only 2nm to the west.
All of Wookie042's updated sceneries now feature a fixed tree and vegetation height around the airstrip. They also now feature a custom windsock. Additionally, the sceneries have been compiled with the latest SDK for improved performance and stability. We encourage the community to check out Wookie042's updated sceneries and give them a try in their next flight sim adventure.
