In a recent update, Fenix Simulations has disclosed plans for a phased release of its Version 2 update. The rollout will be delivered in two separate blocks, according to their latest announcement. The first phase, named Block 1, will contain certain completed modules which include FBWv2, FMv2, and their new displays (ISIS initially, with smaller displays following later). In addition, Block 1 will include code-side performance optimisations, non-dependant avionics improvements throughout the aircraft, a new VNAV, and numerous bug fixes. Fenix Simulations intends to start rolling out Block 1 soon.
The second phase, Block 2, is projected to be completed by the end of September 2023. This block will feature the new visual model, the IAE and external engine model, further avionics fixes, EFBv2, and any necessary adjustments to Block 1. Fenix Simulations stated that Block 2 is still being fine-tuned. Furthermore, Fenix Simulations revealed that they have been working on the A321 and A319 models parallel to the V2 revamp of the A320. These new models will be released as a single expansion package by the end of this year, with a price tag of £39.99. Fenix Simulations also shared that all their product lines will receive free sharklet updates in early 2024.
Fenix Simulations clarified their decision to release the A321 and A319 models ahead of the A320 sharklets. The reason provided was that this approach ensures financial stability, which will support the continued development of their current and future product lines. For the time being, Fenix Simulations is encouraging users to test the updated displays, performance enhancements, and improved handling of the aircraft as they await the full release of V2. They also plan to release performance benchmarks for V2 Block 1, along with a changelog and a build in the coming week.
