In a recent announcement, Microsoft shared its upcoming plans for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and aviation enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to. One of the major updates is the highly anticipated World Update 14, which will center around Central Eastern Europe. This update promises to immerse players in the scenic beauty of six countries: Czechia, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia. The package includes new DEM data, updated aerial imagery, landmarks, cities, and six hand-crafted airports. World Update 14 is set to be released on July 25th, 2023.
Accompanying the World Update is the new Local Legend aircraft, the Aero Vodochody AE-45 / AE-145. Developed by Aeroplane Heaven, this aircraft brings a touch of nostalgia and authenticity to the simulator. The developers faced the challenge of learning some Czechoslovakian to ensure accuracy while creating the aircraft. Aero Vodochody AE-45 / AE-145 will be available to players alongside World Update 14 on the same release date.
Looking further ahead, Sim Update 13 is expected to arrive with various enhancements and bug fixes. Working Title is working on improving the piston engine, and additional features and bug fixes for the 747-8i are also in the pipeline. Asobo, the development team behind Microsoft Flight Simulator, is focused on enhancing accessibility and stability, making the overall experience even better for players. Furthermore, this update will revisit and refine content from previous World Updates, as well as include improvements to the original and 40th Anniversary Edition releases. The development team also addressed concerns about issues with the AAU2 beta, assuring the community that they are actively working on resolving these problems and will prioritize fixing them promptly.
In an insightful segment, Mabel from the Marketplace team provided a behind-the-scenes look at the development and release processes. She shed light on the rigorous testing and submission procedures that developers go through before their content is released to the wider audience. Microsoft ensures that all submitted content complies with their standards and is compatible across various platforms, guaranteeing a smooth and seamless experience for players.
As the video came to a close, Jorg, a key figure in the Microsoft Flight Simulator team, gave viewers a glimpse into what's in store for the rest of 2023. He hinted at exciting updates scheduled for August. Mark your calendars for July 25th, as Central Eastern Europe awaits exploration, and the Aero Vodochody AE-45 / AE-145 stands ready to take to the skies.
