PMDG has announced the release of its Boeing 777-300ER for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Set for June 25th, 2024, this release marks a significant development for virtual pilots. Robert Randazzo, CEO of PMDG, has announced the release date for the PMDG 777-300ER. This initial release is part of a broader 777 product line, which will include variants like the 777F, 777-200ER, and 777-200LR, each offered as a separate product to cater to different preferences within the flight simulation community.
The development of the PMDG 777-300ER has been thorough, incorporating feedback from previous PMDG releases such as the DC-6 and 737. The PMDG 777-300ER will feature a highly detailed cockpit, recreated using technologies like LiDAR scanning and photogrammetry for accuracy. Every switch, button, and lever is modeled to replicate genuine aircraft components, including authentic sounds for enhanced realism, whether on a standard display or in VR.
PMDG is known for its commitment to accurate systems simulation, and the 777-300ER is no exception. According to Robert Randazzo, the systems simulation in this model meets the high standards of experienced pilots, engineers, and maintainers. An upgraded PMDG Universal Flight Tablet introduces new features for the 777, including SimBrief integration and a modern SQL-based navdata format from Navigraph. An advanced lateral pathing model ensures precise navigation, aligning with real-world standards.
Customization and Realism
The 777-300ER continues PMDG's tradition of customization with a comprehensive failures model, simulating real-world scenarios and maintenance wear for added realism. The model also features a fully detailed passenger cabin with realistic seating zones and cabin lighting.
Availability and Pricing
The PMDG 777-300ER will be available for purchase on PMDG's website starting June 25th, 2024, with a subsequent release on the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace. Pricing details will be announced closer to the release date. Robert Randazzo expressed gratitude to the community for their patience and support during the development process. As the release date approaches, PMDG will provide detailed previews, feature highlights, and engaging content, allowing virtual pilots to explore the capabilities of the PMDG 777-300ER.
