An update on Checklists
Testing, testing, Hello?
I don't know if anyone can or will see this, but I thought I'd give an update on my checklists.
As the 777 has just released I've started work on making a checklist & procedures doc for it. I'm also learning the aircraft as I'm doing this but I've all the documentation I need to do this.
Reason for the update is because I've learned a lot from reading FCOMs, QRHs and POHs over the past few months/years and I am thinking about changing how I structure my checklists.
So for the 777 I plan on testing a new format where I will separate Normal Procedures and the Normal Checklist. My old checklists were a mixture/summary of what to do to get you from A to B, and I'd like to better mimic IRL pilots and therefore want to give you all the right information as best as I can.
Normal procedures are basically all of the flows that pilots know by heart, on operating the aircraft. Normal checklists are checklists that are basically meant to be read out loud to verify crucial steps and items are in the correct position/state.
When I publish the 777 Checklist & Procedures I some of you could share feedback on the new format, as I would like to go back and re-do all of my old checklists if everyone is happy with it.
As MSFS 2024 is bringing the ability to walk outside your aircraft, I hope to add Walk-around procedures if they are something we can do in the sim going forward.
Anyway, let me know what you think! 😊
